In Sunday’s Gospel (Luke 3:10-18) we are called to be the best at who we are and do everything with love. This is the season of a million preparations. We spend time and money getting ourselves and our homes ready to celebrate Christmas. This reading asks us to consider more seriously the part of Advent that prepares our hearts and lives for the time when Christ will come again. Like the people in John the Baptist’s time, we need to ask ourselves what we need to do to get ready for Jesus.
Dear Parents and Carers
Lord Jesus,
Be near us now as we light the third candle of our Advent wreath.
As the light grows brighter, we are reminded that you are already here,
in your Word, in your Church, in the faces of those in need, and our love for each other.
Amen
As Week 10 draws to a close, we are on the countdown to the end of the 2021 school year. Congratulations to all students who continue to follow our rules of being respectful, responsible, resilient and resolute right to the end, despite becoming tired, excited about upcoming holidays and new classes and limited spaces to play due to wet weather. Next Wednesday will be the last day of school for students.
New Uniform
St Agnes' Uniform Store will close today and reopen on January 4. The new uniforms can be put on layby at any point up till their arrival at the end of January. We have been pleased with the positive feedback from new Kinder parents who saw the uniforms at the information evening this week. We are excited for the students to begin wearing this more practical uniform beginning next year.

Swimming Carnival
It was with great reluctance that we had to cancel our 2022 Swimming Carnival. The wet weather prevented us from using outdoor spaces that we needed to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. We share in the disappointment of our students, and we appreciate the resilience and patience that was shown with yet another cancellation
Zone Swimming Trials and Zone Swimming Carnival
Our school swimming trials will be held at Wauchope Pool on Friday 11 February 2022. This event is for all students aged 8 and over who would like to represent St Agnes’ in the Hastings Zone Carnival. There is a very short turn around for this, with the Zone Carnival being held on Tuesday 15 February at Macksville. Transport to both of these events will be by bus and will be organised by the school. We will send notes for this event home shortly.
Summer Sports Trials
Congratulations to those children who trialled for Tennis and Basketball this week. Notes for children who have been selected for the Hastings Zone teams should have been handed out at the trial events.
