From the Leaders
This Sunday is the Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark tells us of healing Jairus’ daughter. She was believed dead. Jesus said to her “Talitha, kum!” which means “little girl, I tell you to get up.” Jairus was a man of faith. When he hears Jesus is in the area, he immediately asks him to heal his daughter and has no doubt he will be able to do this. Jesus cured Jairus’ daughter because he had faith.
God may or may not heal us physically when we ask for help, but always offers spiritual healing.
We are on the countdown until the holidays.
Thanks to our amazing staff for the effort they have been putting into preparing reports for their students which will be available on Thursday 4 July at 3:00pm.
Students last day of term is Thursday 4 July and they return on Tuesday 23 July.
Staff Professional Learning Day - Friday 5 July and Monday 22 July
Supervision will be available at school on these days for any families that are not able to organise alternative arrangements. Children should be in their uniform and will need to bring lunch, fruit, hat and a water bottle. Lunch orders are available, the canteen will be operating as normal on this day. Please use the link below to register your child.
To book your child’s place please log on to www.schoolinterviews.com.au. The unique code to logon is bebuw
Kindergarten Liturgy
This week, Kindergarten gathered at the chapel to focus on belonging to the Church. Thank you to Father Prodencio who helped Kinder understand more about things in the church and what happens in the mass.
Next Thursday, Year 1 students would love for their families to join them at 10:00am to walk to the chapel for their Liturgy of the Word.
Thank you to 1 Love for sharing Wednesday’s whole school prayer based on the Good Samaritan. 1 Love reenacted the parable of the Good Samaritan, talked about how we can follow this example and reminded us of ways to be christian through song.
Mr Clean Award
Congratulations to 6 Love who were voted the tidiest classroom and outdoor space for the week. (We are sure this was not a biased decision from our Year 6 judges)!!! They get the honor of the Mr Clean trophy for the week. We look forward to seeing which class wins the challenge for the last week before the holidays.
PBS Reward
As each of the children reach their next 100 dojos, they have an opportunity to select a reward from the Office. Avery (Year Two) decided that his reward would be "Lunch with a staff member". Avery chose Mrs Yarnold to enjoy lunchtime with. He was super excited and loved having this opportunity.
Dave is Retiring - Position Vacant
After enjoying some lovely extended leave, Dave Gerke has decided that he is going to retire from his role as Maintenance at school. We look forward to having an opportunity to farewell him early next term.
The position for a Maintenance/Groundsperson at St Agnes' is now available. If you or someone you know is interested in this role please apply via this link.
Social Futures
Just reminding families that we are lucky to have access to Anabelle Johnson from Social Futures. She has been able to link many families to outside services.
If you require support in any of these areas, please contact Anabelle.
St Agnes' Uniform Store
The St Agnes' Uniform Store will be closed for the first week of the school holidays (8 July – 13 July) for stocktake.
God Moment
- We are proud to have received a phone call from a parent to acknowledge great caring and leadership from one of our students this week. Ezra van Lint in Year 6 was commended for being observed standing back to ensure all of the younger students were safely on the bus at his stop before he boarded. Thank you Ezra.
- We love that so many children have been asking adults how they are and telling them to have a great day when they greet them in the mornings.
Sports News
School Athletics Carnival
Last Friday, we held our Athletics Carnival in stunning conditions. It was an engaging day of sport that truly embodied the Aggies' spirit of sportsmanship. Whether competing in championship finals or participating in non-championship events, our students displayed competitiveness, humility and resilience.
A big thank you to all the staff for making the day so enjoyable for our students. Seeing so many members of our school community join us to support their children was wonderful.
Congratulations to the students who secured a spot on the Aggies School Team to attend the Zone Carnival in Week 1, Term 3 at St Joseph’s Regional College. The first and second place winners in each event will progress to the Zone Carnival. Permission notes will be sent out soon via Compass.
